Still Growing Strong
Pat started repairing and maintaining vehicles at the home of a friend, Rusty McKee, in 2008. He realized he had to put a business name in vendor orders, so he decided to be literal and have deliveries made to “Rusty’s Garage,” and the official business was born.
Rusty’s Garage quickly outgrew the residential two-car garage where it started, so in 2009 Pat moved the business to its previous location on Tamina Rd. In July 2014 Rusty’s moved to its current facility at 25143 Melda Road, The Woodlands, TX, 77380. Rusty’s Garage currently has eight people on staff and services over 2300 vehicles per year.
Rusty’s Garage does it all – from oil changes, auto repair, and engine tune-ups to diagnosing major mechanical problems and handling overall maintenance – we make sure your vehicle runs its best. Three of our technicians are ASE masters and we have additional access to hundreds of years of ASE Certified Experience, which means we offer experience as specialists on your car – regardless of make or model.
Pat DePugh, Founder & Co-owner
A Houston native, Pat has been fixing automobiles for over 20 years. He began his career in the automotive repair business at his own home in The Woodlands. He started repairing automotive air-conditioners for friends, and that soon went from a side job in his garage to his first shop in 1995. Called Absolutely Cool Automotive Air Conditioning, Pat repaired an estimated 18,000-20,000 car air conditioners over the next dozen years.
Building the business the way he wanted it allowed him to do the things he loves most. This means that much of the time you’ll find Pat head deep in advanced diagnostics, diesel engine work or air-conditioning repair.
But as busy as he stays turning wrenches, he still has time for the top priority at Rusty’s Garage – the customers. His goal is to establish a true relationship between the customer and the shop. “We cut our teeth here at Rusty’s Garage on building relationships. It’s our first priority, and it helps us be the most successful in taking care of our customers’ needs.”
My name is Dillon, I’m 25 years old and I first found interest in the mechanical field through my dad Bryan, who was a level 1 mechanic for 30 years. I started my mechanical path at age 17 and loved the environment. This made me want to develop these skills. I’m currently enrolled at Lonestar community college working on my masters in business administration and business law, as well as enrolled at Stratford Institute for computer forensics and software engineering. I introduced my 5-year-old daughter, Alexis, to my wife, Victoria. Victoria and I have been together for the past three years and celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary in November 2017. Life has been an up words spiral ever since. I love the atmosphere here at Rusty’s Garage and can’t wait to start advancing and growing with the family that has been formed here.
